My gratitude to you for writing the 1838 "Declaration of Peace." It influenced Leo Tolstoy to write "The kingdom of God is Within You." Gandhi read that book and began the Satyagraha movement. MLK and the Civil Rights Movement were influenced by Gandhi. Your work lives on in the first African American President who was inspired by Martin Luther King. Your legacy is a testimony to the power of the human spirit.

How how hard won was their freedom. Praise be to those who first broke ranks with wickedness, and derided enslavers and masters, and defied their own kind, to strike the blows which the oppressed could not by their own hand. These were true diamonds as finds as human beings. No better have ever been born by woman or upraised by man. Yet, here likes surely one who deserves such a mantle.
