Billy Lott, age 74, of Lecanto, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2009, while surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. Billy was born June 25, 1934, in Broxton, Georgia, to William Evans and Verna Eliza (Deen) Lott. Billy worked in the construction industry most of his life, and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, watching basketball, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father William in 1961, his brother Bobby in 1992, and his son Billy Jerome Lott in 1977 in Barcelona, Spain, who died while courageously serving his country in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice "Vivian" Lott, of Lecanto, his mother Verna Lott of Auburndale; sister, Margaret (Ralph) Whitley of Auburndale, brothers John (Judy) Lott of Auburndale, Gerald (Jajuania) Lott of Winter Haven, Mike (Dot) Lott of Powder Springs, GA, Jesse (Ann) Lott of Hawkinsville, GA, Woody (Cecilia) Lott of Philadelphia, PA, two sons, Marlin Sexton of Crystal River and Richard (Roxanne) Sexton of Floral City, three daughters, Patricia (Tony) Terry of Weirsdale, Camilla (Robert) Matthews of Summerfield, and Yvonne (Kevin) Sphon of Crystal River, 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The Service of Remembrance for Mr. Billy Lott will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 13, 2009, at the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Thomas Reaves officiating. Interment will follow at Fountains Memorial Park, Homosassa, Florida. Friends may call 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes.
