Huron A. Gillespie was the son of Parley K. Gillespie and Jennie May Hawkins. He was the grandson of Stephen Hawkins and Magdelena Hake Hawkins. Huron married Dorothy Parsons. Dorothy was born on 15 November 1912, in Royalton Township, Fulton County and died at the age of 96, on 12 April 2009 at the Swanton Valley Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of Thomas Ellsworth Parsons and Zelma "Zella" Gazelle Bortel Parsons.
