Randy E. Nelson, 31, dies Saturday

Randy E. "Nellie" Nelson, 31, of 2412 25th St. N.W., a Reynolds Wholesale Co. employee, died late Saturday evening of pulmonary edema at his home.

He was born Nov. 6, 1957, in Rochester and attended John Marshall High School. He was active in softball and hockey. Mr. Nelson had been working for Reynolds Wholesale since 1978. On Oct. 28, 1983, he married Marie A. Anderson in Las Vegas, Nev.

Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Paul Meier of Rochester; his parents, Willard and Lillian Nelson of Rochester; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lina Bluhm of Rochester; and two brothers, Willard Jr. of Eyota and Steven of Rochester.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with the Rev. Thomas G. Koelln officiating. Burial will be in East St. Olaf Cemetery at Rock Dell.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Vine Funeral Home and an hour before the service at the church Wednesday.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
