* CAT *
My "Bella Luna". I was @ the humane society having my beloved Sarah put down due to cancer of the pancreas. I was so not in the mood to even think about looking @ kittens, but I did. There she was...with her crazy "Sherwin-Williams" paint factory had an explosion fur pattern on her face. It was LOVE. She had a litter mate, so I adopted both of them, couldn't break up the set. Izzy was all of 2 1/2 lbs and all "fluff".

She looks like an EWOK as a kitten and I called her the "Teddybear Kitty Hybrid" once she grew up

She had amazing jumping ability even as a kitten- I remember putting her on my book case headboard and her SAILING off of it.. paws out in front of her like a superhero.. she's come running back and want me to put her back up there so she could jump again.

I had been praying for a BIG cat for over 30 years and when the vet took a look @ her paws on her kitten check-up and told me "this ones' gonna be BIG" I knew my prayers were answered at last.

I named her "Isabell" after the lead character in the movie "Crossing Delancy" and Grace because her body was so small and her paws were so big, she tripped a lot and needed a little "grace" in her life- might help her kitty self esteem.

She grew into a 13 lb. beast with the sweetest little meepy meow and became my "pillow"- as soon as I'd turn out the lights @ night, she'd come up and want to lay in my arms and OH BOY did she have a DEEP purr, like sub basement tone. My own lullaby machine. She had eyes the colour of martini olives and looked like 2 big "full moons", so I nicknamed her Bella Luna (and she liked it better than her name as she'd actually answer to it) and also had the scariest YAWN I've ever seen in a housecat-HUGE TEETH.

She was not a "social" cat but when I brought home an abandoned kitten I'd found @ work, she took to that crazy little creature as if she knew it needed our love. We named her Lucy Lu and it followed Isabell everywhere. Reminded me of that cartoon of the 2 dogs- Lucy bouncing as if to ask "Where we going,Spike? what we gonna do? huh? huh? huh?" all the while I was waiting for Izzy to belt her one but that rarely happened Izzy as liked having a friend.

I noticed she had lost some weight but figured it was just the summer season and she was a thick furred cat so I let it be. We got her to the vets and with tube- feeding , IV's and love- she rallied. In an Ironic twist, 11 months later, The weight loss began again- so back to the vet she went. This time perscription food and pills every day.

On 14 May, I took her in for a check up and have test run as she wasn't gaining like we'd hoped. Later that night something happened as the next day, she was "dazed" and couldn't walk. The vet thinks she'd had a stroke. I think she'd had a stroke a yr before but the vet didn't think so It was time to let her go.

I had a feeling because of her size, I'd lose her @ a young age.. but never imagined she'd only live to just past her 8th birthday.

Her song was "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" by Areosmith as I had prayed for over 30 yrs. to have a BIG cat as I always appreciated a full figured Feline and finally I had one, if only for a short time.

I think G-D gave me 1 more yr. with her so I could say "good bye" as I had waited so long for her to arrive- for that I am so thankful.

She leaves behind her litter mate, Sophie Rose and "sisters", Lucy Lu, Chloe Olivia and Sleepy Baby.

All the great jokes went with her: It's not a cat.. It's a BELL / Izzy- are ya busy? If I spin ya, are ya DIZZY? * yes, she knew her mama was off-centre*

She was laid to rest in the backyard with her cat sisters, Sarah Margeret (Fergie) and Holly-Eva (Misery)

* I found this and it fit you- and your sisters so PURRRfectly*

No more cat tracks on the floor, muddy scratches on the door, puffs of hair upon the stairs lacy fretwork on the chairs,
Indentations on my bed, markings where you laid your head.Smudges on the window pane showing where you watched in vain.Haunts where you was wont to lay remind us that you are away.
My house is neater that is true
but oh how still and empty too.

Isabell was a Nordie and I was just sent this. It sure sounds like my girl:

They look like little snow lions

MORE REASONS WHY NORWEGIAN FOREST CATS ARE THE BEST:

THE COLLOQUIAL TERM FOR THEM IS SKOGKATTEN
THEY ARE ALSO CALLED FAIRY CATS IN NORWAY BECAUSE THEY'RE SO PRETTY
THEY RUN DOWN TREES HEADFIRST
THEY'RE GIGANTIC BABIES AND THEY PURR REALLY LOUD
THEY LITERALLY WALK OVER SNOW LIKE MOTHERLOVING LEGOLAS
IN NORSE MYTHOLOGY SKOGKATTS PULL THE GODDESS FREYA'S CARRIAGE WHO DOESN'T WANT A CARRIAGE PULLED BY CATS
VIKING CATS END OF STORY

**THANK YOU to SSBJ for sponsoring my IzzyGirls' memorial. It warmed my heart greatly and I appreciate it SO very much**
