He married Patricia Gwizdala on July 18, 1953 at Queen of Heaven Church in Detroit.
Ed was a graduate of the St. Josaphat Elementary School and a 1941 graduate of St. Josaphat High School.
Ed was a WWII officer in the Army Airforce.
He was a 1950 graduate of the University of Detroit Dental School. He owned and operated dental offices in Detroit and Eastpointe, retiring in 1988. He was a member of local, state, and national dental societies.
Ed was a lifelong parishioner and usher at St. Josaphat Catholic Church.
He was an active parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Kewadin and San Marco Catholic Church of Marco Island, Fla. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and other Catholic societies.
Ed and Pat wintered in Marco Island for 39 years. He built a home on Torch Lake for his wife 39 years ago and moved there after his retirement.
Ed is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia of Torch Lake; three daughters, Cathy Roumell of Birmingham, Susan Borninski of Grosse Pointe Farms, Lesa Borninski (Jeff) Olsen of Stratham, NH; 6 grandchildren, Loren, Ted and Cassandra Roumell, Max, Seth and Sebastian Olsen, and many nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by brothers Stanley and Walter and his sister, Rose Walkowski.
Visitation for Dr. Borninski will be at D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd., in Warren on Sunday from 3-9 p.m... There will be a parish vigil service on Sunday at 7 p.m. Further visitation will be held Monday from 9:30-10 a.m. at the St. Josaphat's Catholic Church, 691 East Canfield, Detroit, MI 48201. The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 4 at St. Josaphat's Church in Detroit. Rev. Mark Borkowski, pastor will officiate.
Burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorials are requested to the donor's choice or the Capuchin Monastery.
