BRITT - Mary Elizabeth Britt of Eugene, died April 7, 1986 at a local nursing home at the age of 99. She was born October 13, 1886 in Columbia County, Florida and was the daughter of William and Mary Turner. She had been a homemaker and had lived in this community since 1965. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Lowder in June of 1962. She married Joseph D. Britt on September 1, 1921 in Jacksonville, Florida. He preceded her in death in January of 1932. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include 2 sons, Robert Britt and his wife, Bernice of Springfield and Clair Britt and his wife, Bunny of Miami, Florida, a daughter, Bernice Webb and her husband Henry of Broomall, Pennsylvania, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Viewing will be Thursday, April 10th at BUELL CHAPEL from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, April 11th at 10 a.m. at Buell Chapel with Associate Pastor Luther Slaughter of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
