Was a native of the north of Scotland, born Mar. 5, 1675. The precise time when, and the circumstances which induced Cuthbert Campbell to come to New England, do not appear in any written evidence. Although an approximate time would be after 1701. He was at Newport, Rhode Island in 1749 and was noted as a shopkeeper,
"far advanced in years." He left a will dated Apr. 28, 1750, Codicil dated Feb. 6, 1754, proved March 4, 1754.
