Funeral for Otto H. Dahlke of Arlington were held Thursday, Oct. 13, 1988, at 11:00 a.m. from the Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington, MN. Officiating were Pastor Karl E. Hansen. The organist was Mrs. Kathy Murphy. Congregational hymns were "Holy, Holy, Holy", "Beautiful Savior" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives."
The casket bearers were Myron Dahlke, Brian Dahlke, Gregg Dahlke, Stephen Lehmberg, Jeffrey Lehmberg and Daniel Wentzlaff. Interment was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, New Auburn Township.
Otto Herman Dahlke was born March 29, 1903 in New Auburn Twsp., of Sibley County, the son of William Sr. and Augusta (Lindemann) Dahlke. He was baptized April 19, 1903 at the Zion's Lutheran Church by Rev. Weise and later confirmed by Rev. Hoyer at the same church.
On April 1, 1917, Mr. Dahlke was united in marriage November 13, 1925 to Delia (Wacker) at Zion's Lutheran Church by Rev. Hoyer. They made their home and farmed in Green Isle Twsp. In 1974 they retired and moved into Arlington.
Since August 6, 1984 Otto has been a resident at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Arlington. On Monday morning, Oct. 10, he died at the Arlington Municipal Hospital at the age of 85-years, 6 months and 11 days.
Surviving are two sons, Victor E. Dahlke (wife, Luella) of Glencoe and Bruce Dahlke (wife, Evelyn) of Arlington, three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Lehmberg (husband, Melvin) of Plymouth. Mrs. Verona Wentzlaff (husband, Marvin) of Arlington and Mrs. Gloria Perschau (husband, Kenneth) of Green Isle, 15-grandsons, 6-granddaughters, 18-great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Bergs and Mrs. Lydia Jakobi (husband, Edward) both of Arlington and two brothers, William Dahlke (wife, Hilda) and Lawrence Dahlke (wife, Clara) both of Glencoe, also 2 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mayme Dahlke and Mrs. Selma Dahlke.
Mr. Dahlke is preceded in death by his parents, wife Delia in May of 1988; grandson, David Wentzlaff; sister, Mrs. Clara Balau and two brothers, Alfred Dahlke and Gerhard Dahlke.
Visitation was held at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe Wednesday afternoon and evening.
