Funeral services for Herman O. Anderson. who grew to manhood on a farm east of Osceola, were held on Tuesday, July 8 at the Stromsburg Baptist Church. Mr. Anderson, the son of Anton Anderson and Anna Anderson, was born at Weston, Nebraska, March 15, 1896. He passed to his eternal reward in Stromsburg, on July 5, at the age of 62 years, three months and twenty days.

When he was one year of age, his family moved to Osceola. Here in early manhood, he enlisted in the military forces of the United States on December 14, 1917 and was honorably discharged June 1, 1919. He was married to Miss Thelma Leibee on August 18, 1920 at Shelby, Nebraska. God blessed this union with the birth of three children. Mr. Anderson continuously lived in Polk County , being engaged in farming and in business in Osceola, Shelby and Stromsburg.

He took an active interest in his community, having served on various church and civic committees and a member of the Stromsburg school board from 1944 to 1953, four of these years as president. In October of 1951, he professed his Christian faith by following the lord in baptism in the Stromsburg Baptist Church. He was a loving husband and father and took much joy in his grandchildren. Pastor Earl Byleen conducted the services. Interment took place in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
