Deaconess Edna Eley Branch, wife of the late Deacon Elbert Leroy Branch, went home to glory on January 6, 2003.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Ethel Branch Stone and Marilyn Branch Brown (Winfred); one son, Elbert Marvin Branch (Delores); one foster son, Michael E. Smith; four grandchildren, Leta Stone-Brooks (Keith), Kara Lancaster-Gay (Rick), Warren Stone (Alissa) and Lesli Brown; three great-grandchildren, Tarik, Tahja and Kyana; one sister, Mrs. Mary E. Branch; six sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law; godchildren, Andre Ridley and Tracey Williams; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Remains rested at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral services held Friday, January 10, 2003, 12 noon at Swansboro Baptist Church, 12 W. Roanoke St. Dr. Herbert R. Plummer, Pastor, officiated. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Remains rested in church 1 hour prior to service. Relatives and friends attending funeral services, assembled at the church Friday, 11:30am.
