Mrs. Raymond O. Abel (Lucille B. Counter) 525 N. Oneida St., Appleton Age 81, died at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 1990, following a short illness. She was born September 6, 1908, in Rhinelander, and moved to Appleton in 1954 from New London. Lucille had been employed by St. Elizabeth Hospital for ten years; retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic church. Mrs. Abel is the beloved mother of Carlene and Robert Huntley, Appleton; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Donald Abel; Phillip and Elaine Abel, Irvin, Texas; Thomas and Coleen Abel, Franklin, Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren; and 19 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond O. Abel, in July 1982; three brothers: Phillip, Edward, and Cletus Counter; and a sister, Vi Johnson. The funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 1990, at St Mary Catholic Church, 312 S. State St., with Father Michael O'Rourke officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the cortege leaves for the church. A prayer and scripture service will be at 7 p.m. Friday. A memorial fund is being established.
