Janyce Cedergren, 83, of Hallock and formerly of Lancaster, Minnesota passed away at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock on Thursday evening, April 9th, 2009.
Janyce Frances Reddington was born in Hallock on June 21, 1925 to Frank and Freda (Johnson) Reddington.
Janyce grew up on the family farm and attended high school in Hallock, graduating in 1943. She went on to attend business school and worked at Adrian Johnson's electrical shop as a bookkeeper.
On May 28, 1948 she married Russell Cedergren at Hallock. They moved to Lancaster in 1951. Janyce entered the healthcare center in 2004. Russell died in 2007.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Ladies Guild, Royal Neighbors, the Lancaster American Legion Auxiliary and was a former Cub Scout Leader.
Family members include her children, Allard (Ruth) Reddington, Andover, MN, Randy (Gloria) Cedergren, Lancaster, MN, Kenny (Cindy) Cedergren, Thief River Falls, MN, Keith (Sue) Cedergren, LeCenter, MN, Renee (Mark) Nelson, Lancaster and Ronelle (Jeff) Remer, Bloomington, MN; 20 grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; two brothers, James (Janet) Reddington, Arvada, CO and Russell (Idelle) Reddington, Citrus Heights, CA; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Curtiss; and a sister, Gladys (Patty).
Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Hallock.
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Austin-Hughes Funeral Home, Hallock, MN, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
