She was born in Lee County, VA where she was a member of the Beech Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Blackwater, VA.
She was a devoted Christian from a very young age. She was the church's clerk for over 40 years as well as a Sunday school teacher.
Mommy loved her children and grandchildren teaching them to serve God and love everyone. She always enjoyed canning, gardening, flowers, cooking, farming and being able to continue taking care of herself. Her table was always opened to family, friends and strangers.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clyde E. Moore and Don Arrington, her parents, Carter and Ruhama Lawson, four brothers; Carson, Emitt,Dewey and Freeman Lawson and her grand daughter, Charnita Moore.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Wallen and husband, Onzie, Patty Osborne and her husband, Ray. Son, Gerald W Moore and his wife, Willa, step children; Sue Fritzgerald, Betty Harris and a very special step son, Larry Arrington. 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and 14 step great grandchildren and a brother, Holly Lawson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev Gary Hood, Pastor Phil Crittden and Rev Walter Willis officiating.
Graveside services will on Wednesday April 8, 2009 at11:00 A M in Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of the Last Supper.
