Katheryn Laurae Bennett, the daughter of Raymond L. and Laura Bell (Morris) Shrimpton, was born on August 30, 1944, on a farm near Diagonal, Iowa. Katheryn entered eternal rest on March 25, 2009, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of sixty-four years, six months, and twenty-six days.
Katheryn graduated from Creston High School with the Class of 1963. Katheryn has lived in Des Moines the last 31 years where she worked in the real estate sector for thirty years. She worked for Iowa Realty, ReMax and several law firms including most recently, Abendroth & Russell, Attorneys at Law, where she was a closer on real estate transactions. Katheryn loved her children and grandchildren. She was a travel enthusiast, having traveled all over Europe, New Zealand, and many other places.
Left to cherish Katheryn's memory are her four sons: Chris (Shelly) Bennett, Grimes; Jeff Bennett, Des Moines; Mitch (Lauren) Bennett, Urbandale; and Tobin Bennett, Urbandale; Four Grandchildren: Lindsay and Katelyn Bennett; Emily Marie and Paige Elizabeth Bennett; her sisters: Jacque Rettig (Fiance' Mike Sego), South Bend, Indiana and Rebecca Shrimpton, Windsor Heights, Iowa; her brother: Craig (Donna) Shrimpton, Plattsmouth, NE; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
