Nelle grew up in Carleton and was educated there. She joined the Lutheran Church at the age of 16 years.
Nellie worked as a nurse in Hebron, Nebraska, for a short period of time before marrying Ora C. Brown on January 20, 1920. To this union three children were born. Other communities she lived in were Carleton, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Davenport and Nelson. She and Ora moved to Nelson in 1951. When she was able, she was quite active in the Methodist Church Womens Club.
Nelle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ora on November 11, 1975; an infant daughter, Bess and six brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Alex of Nelson; a daughter, Norma (Mrs. Lee Keldsen) of York; a sister, Sophia Morse of Omaha; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Nelle died on November 13, 1975, in Superior at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 28 days after an illness of four years.
Funeral services were held on Friday, November 14, 1975, at the United Methodist Church of Nelson at 2 p.m. with Rev. Clair Kess officiating. Burial was in the Carleton Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Klawitter Funeral Home of Nelson.
