Jack Woodall, Jr. 81, died March 17, 2009. He was a lifelong Memphian and was born on February 4, 1928. He was the son of Jack and Rebecca Woodall who preceded him in death. Jack was a 1947 graduate of Memphis Technical High School. He owned Woodall Drywall Co. for many years. Jack and his brother-in-law, Alton Widdoes were responsible for bringing the use of sheetrock in residential construction to Memphis. He served in the Korean War. He retired from Boral Brick. He was active for many years in Carnival Memphis. He was past king of Shelbi, and RaMet. After retirement, he became an active member of the Bartlett Choral group at the Bartlett Senior Center. He enjoyed singing and performed with them until his death. Mr. Woodall had one sister, Jeanne Bynum, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his son Dr. Charles (Chuck) Woodall and his wife Dr. Melanie Woodall. He leaves a grandson, Jackson Woodall. He also leaves his nieces, Suzanne Widdoes who continually helped to care for him and Jackie, and Jody Pickett all of Memphis. He survived by a daughter, Sherry Tanner and granddaughters, Tammy and Heather Tanner of Texas. The visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday March 20, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, also at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will be in the Memorial Park Mausoleum.
