Mildred married Gerald "Jerry" D. Newman on July 5, 1941, in Wenatchee and he passed away in 1962. She married her second husband, Richard "Dick" F. Horton on June 29, 1969.
The couple moved to Shoreline, WA where they owned and operated The Old Hobby Shop. After Dick passed away in 1992, she ran the shop for 6 years with the help of Randy Keith.
Mildred enjoyed hunting elk, crafts, antiques, and the family ranch. Mildred is survived by her five sons, Gerald "Gerry" Newman of Wenatchee, Larry Newman of Shoreline, Don Horton of Clearview, Dale Horton of Granite Falls, and Doug Horton of Arlington; two daughters, Dee Malchow of Shoreline and Darla Brown of Snohomish; one brother, Jesse L. Rader of Everett, WA. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both of her husbands; one daughter, Diana Bloggett; five sisters; and three brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held at Jones and Jones Funeral Home, 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2006. Jones & Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Note: Gerry and Larry Newman are her biological children, the remaining children are from her second marriage.
