Mrs. Rose Pickrel, 86, of 217 Edwards St., Port Orchard, died Thursday at Horton Nursing Home in Bremerton where she resided for the past several years.
She was born March 2, 1887, in Oakville, Grays Harbor County. She grew up in the area, later moving to Shelton and Seattle prior to coming to Port Orchard in 1929. She worked as a nurses' aide at Washington Veterans Home and as a school teacher.
Surviving are nephews, E. G. and Stanley Murphy, both of Seattle, Frank Murphy of Tacoma, and Keith Ward of Portland, Ore., and nieces Mrs. Mildred McCann of California and Mrs. Fern Arant of Tacoma.
