While Mrs. Wm. Kayes and children, of Shanghai, were visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Atkins, one of her little boys became very ill and died on Friday night. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the home and the interment was in the Fern Prairie cemetery. Mr. Kayes was at Eugene, Oregon, at the time of the child's death, but reached this place early Sunday morning in response to a telegram. Their other children are now quite sick with measles.
