David's occupation; was active in the town and the church society, receiving many appointments. In 1782 he was part of the school committee, a service in which his father had faithfully engaged. In December 1790 at Granby he was appointed the Tything-man. They were on the 1790 census for Granby, Hartford County, Connecticut. Mary appears to have died previous to 1795, as she was not mentioned in her mother will that year. Closed to the century end, David could have emigrated to Vermont or the Western Reserve, in Ohio, probably the later, with one of the children. No records of their burials were ever found. Although the following death records were found at Montgomery, Hampden County, Massachusetts " Higley, David Jr died October 4, 1793, age 49th. and Higley, David died February 4, 1798, age 81st year." When David Higley II was born on 6 July 1745, in Turkey Hill, New Haven, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America, his father, David Higley, was 34 and his mother, Anna Owen, was 45. He married Mary Thompson in 1771. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 4 October 1793, in Montgomery, Hampden, Massachusetts, United States, at the age of 48, and was buried in Montgomery, Hampden, Massachusetts, United States.
