William ''Whin'' Raby, 90, long time resident of Bingham Canyon and Murray, died on February 5, 1990.


Whin was born in Egolmont, England on December 13, 1899 to William and Dinah Steele Raby.


He came to the U. S. in 1925 to work in the Bingham Mine. Whin married Mary Masters on April 3, 1935 in Bingham. She died on March 21, 1987. Whin retired from Kennecott in 1959. They moved to Murray in 1962.


Whin was an avid golfer and bowler, a member of Copper Golf Club and the Bingham Masonic Lodge. His skill in carpentry for family and friends will be remembered.


Survived by nieces and nephews, Robert and Ralph Siddoway, Alaine Thompson, Tom and Susan Contratto; sister-in-law, Ruth Masters; cousins, Dorthey Barkle, Bob Steele, Kay Bolls, Kay Sonne and special friends, Willard and Norma Nichols.


Graveside Services will be held on Friday, February 9, 1990 at 1 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South). Friends may call at MacKay Deseret Mortuary at Lake Hills, 10055 South State Street from 12-12:45 p.m.
