Liberty - Clifton L. Case of Liberty, a retired building contractor and a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa., after a long illness. He was 76.

The son of the late Blake and Lena Smith Case, he was born March 7, 1912, in Rock Hill.

Mr. Case was a past deputy Sullivan County fire coordinator; former captain and 36-year member of the Ontario Hose Company No. 3, Liberty Fire Company; a member and trustee of the Liberty United Methodist Church, Liberty; past chairman of the Village of Liberty Planning Board, and a World War II veteran of the Coast Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Roth Case at home; one son, Craig Case of Liberty; one brother, C. Marvin Case of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Gladys Peck of Atlanta; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St., Liberty.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Liberty United Methodist Church, North Main Street, Liberty. The Rev. Dr. Duane Buddle will officiate.

Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Liberty.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty United Methodist Church, Liberty, or the Sullivan County Renal Dialysis Foundation, Harris.
