The funeral service for former Chuck's Radio employee Evelyn Ayers of Paris was set at 11 a.m. today at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Steve Gallimore was to officiate. Burial was to follow in Murray City Cemetery.

Named as pallbearers were Hazel School class members: Frank Coles, Hughes Bennett, Danny Gallimore, Terry Wilson, Richard Vance and Robert Clark.

Honorary pallbearers were Hazel School class members: James Erwin, David Lamb, Jerry Waters, Michael Parker, Lowell Grubbs, Billy Wilson and Roy Garland.

Visitation was Sunday and today.

Ayers, 66, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla.

Born Sept. 9, 1942, in Puryear, she was a daughter of Barney and Maggie Byars Paschall, now both deceased.

She was married on March 11, 1966, to Kenneth J. Ayers, who died Nov. 7, 2005.

She was a 1960 graduate of Hazel High School and a former bookkeeper, secretary and receptionist for Chuck's Radio in Paris. Ayers also was a former Tupperware manager for many years and had formerly worked in real estate in Nashville. She was a member of Tennessee Valley Community Church.

She leaves one sister: Darryel (J.T.) Lee of Murray; four brothers: Carves (Darlene) Paschall of McKenzie and Edward Paschall, Dudley (Sandra) Paschall and George (Betty) Paschall, all of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by a son: Kenneth Ayers II.
