Mildred "Millie" Carr Baker, 85, of Charleston, the wife of LeRoy Hoyt Baker, Jr., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at a local hospital. She was born in Jewell, GA, the daughter of Jesse Rhodes Carr and Martha Jane Crawford Carr on Thursday, August 16, 1923. Mrs. Baker was a graduate of Warrenton High School in Warrenton, GA and of Georgia State College for Women in Middleville, GA. She was an active member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and a member of their Good Neighbors - Senior Group. Mrs. Baker is survived by her loving husband, LeRoy Hoyt Baker, Jr., of Charleston, SC; her son, LeRoy H. (Skip) Baker, III and his wife Deborah of Temecula, CA; her daughter, Lynn B. Harris and her husband David of Rock Hill, SC; grandson, Spencer L. Baker and his wife Jennifer of California, MD; grandson, Jonathan Harris of Rock Hill, SC; granddaughter, Donna Harris of Sylva, NC; great grandson, Reilly Baker of California, MD; great grandson, Easton Baker of California, MD; great granddaughter, Camellia Baker of California, MD and great grandson, Duncan Baker of California, MD. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 413 Geddes Ave. Charleston. The relatives and friends of Mildred C. Baker are invited to attend her Memorial Service at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 31, 2009, at St. Mark United Methodist Church.
Burial will be held later in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 413 Geddes Ave. Charleston, SC 29407.
