Joan was born March 28, 1939 in Fort Kent, ME. She was the daughter of the late Ligouri and Margaret (Deprey) Chasse.
Joan was married to Harold Bernier for 52 years. She was sadly predeceased by her son, Douglas Paul Bernier and her brother, Herbert Chasse. Joan is survived by her son, Mark Bernier and his wife, Kimberly and their two sons, Chadd and Noah; her daughter-in-law, Rachel Bernier, the wife of the late Douglas Bernier and their two children, Kristin and Douglas; her son, Gregory Bernier; her daughter, Susan Fazzuoli and her husband, Richard and their two children, Spartacus and Margaret Carpenter all of Bristol. Joan also leaves her adoring sister, Lorraine Harrison of Alabama and many adored nieces and nephews.
She was an inspector for 13 years at Hamilton Standard in Farmington. Joan was an avid quilter, creating heirloom treasures for those she loved. The one thing that brought her the most joy in her life was her grandchildren. They have all inherited a special and unique part of her. Joan will live on forever in them.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 19 at 10:30 a.m. from the O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Avenue, Forestville to St. Matthew Church, Forestville, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
Calling hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 5-8 p.m.
