Helen Elizabeth Bange, age 81, of Sheffield, Ala., died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Mrs. Bange was a Colbert County native and a member of Highland United Methodist Church, Sheffield. She was a retired nurse at Shoals Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie Grissom Roden and Austin Roden; sons, Robert Bange, Blake Bange Jr., McKinley Clay "Cat" Bange; brothers, Wright Jim Roden, Leroy "Buddy" Roden and Woodrow "Little Woody" Roden.
She is survived by her sisters, Grace Eleen Cole, Betty Jean Hallmark; five grandchildren, Brenton Blake "Sam" Bange and wife, Barbara, Michael Clay Bange and wife, Angie, Brenda Beth Bange, McKinley Clay "Kenny" Bange Jr., Amanda Hall Files and husband, Anthony; great-grandchildren, Brittney Noel Cantrell, Katelyn Callahan, Michael Blake Bange, Jacob Harrison Bange, Hannah Christine Files, James Paul Files, Joseph Anthony Files; great-great-grandchild, Sway Alexandria Michael; daughters-in-law, Brenda Bange Hall and husband, James, Rita Bange Rich and husband, Milton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers include Milton Rich, James Hall, Anthony Files, Thomas Roden, Dennis Smith and David Philips.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Joe Hallmark Jr. and Wesley Williams.
The family would like to express thanks to our friends and neighbors and special thank you to Brenda Hanvey.
