He was born June 27, 1922, in Sangamon County, the son of John P. and Mabel Newell Leahy.
Mr. Leahy graduated from Ashland High School. He was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Survivors: two sisters, Janet Case of Fort Myers, Fla., and Rita Gorman of Springfield; three nieces; six nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday, St. Augustine Catholic Church, Ashland. Burial: St. Augustine Cemetery, Ashland.
