Ruth Bernece Jones Crawford, 90, died March 2, 2008, at Mennonite Manor.

She was born May 26, 1917, LaJunta, Colo, the daughter of Leonard and Bess Fuqua O'Byrne. She was a Hutchinson resident since 1945. She was a homemaker. She belonged to First Presbyterian Church, PEO Chapter BY.

On Dec. 25, 1938, she married Robert Y. Jones Jr., Lyons. He died Nov. 16, 1963. On March 15, 1969, she married Dr. Robert A. Crawford, Hutchinson. He died March 26, 2001. Survivors include: a son, RY Jones, Branson, Mo; a daughter, Phoebe Welty, Hutchinson; a brother, Myron O'Byrne, Portland, Ore; two grandchildren, Lisa Riggs, Olathe, and David Welty, Abbyville; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard and Milton O'Byrne.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or register book. A private family graveside service will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the donor's choice.
