HAINES CITY, Florida - Rena Elizabeth Carpenter passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2008 in Auburndale. She was 68.

Rena was born to Norman Jones and Hattie Stedam Jones on February 29, 1940 in Deer Lodge, Tennessee. Her greatest interests included caring for her family, gardening and sewing. She had a love of flowers, especially roses. She was a member of Haines City Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Preceded in death by her son, Randy Aytes; three infant children; parents; granddaughter, Elizabeth Houston and great-grandson, Zackary Beaty. Rena is survived by her husband, Walter Carpenter; daughters, Nancy Houston, Linda Capps and Brenda Debil all of Deer Lodge, Tennessee; sisters, Mary Hall of Crossville, Tennessee, Paulette Byrge of Knoxville, Tennessee and Martha Evans of Deer Lodge; brothers, Willie Jones, Edsell Jones, Wade Jones, Timothy Jones, Byrl Jones and Bryant Jones all of Deer Lodge; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2008 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Tim Bove of Haines City Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
