Lorraine Anna Alma Murwin, 98, of Fulton, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Edgerton on July 12, 1910, the daughter of the late Eduard and Bertha (Schumacher) Ruosch. Lorraine was united in marriage to Oliver T. Murwin on Oct. 15, 1929, at her father's farm in the Township of Fulton. Her husband preceded her in death on July 2, 1965. She was a member of St John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edgerton. Lorraine enjoyed sewing, knitting crocheting, gardening, traveling, cooking, and baking, often making items for her annual craft sale. Spending time with her family and friends was a favorite pastime for her, and young children always brought her a special joy. For many years she was a member of the Fulton Mothers Club. She is survived by three daughters: Jeanette (Lyle) Phillips of Fulton, Bertha Borde of Janesville and Ruby (Joe) Cabibbo of Stoughton; six sons: William (Iva) Murwin of Milton, Franklin (Betty) Murwin of Tennessee, Oliver (Patricia) Murwin of Baraboo, Allen Murwin, Robert (Katherine) Murwin and Wayne (Linda) Murwin, all of Fulton; 28 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elvira Arthur of Edgerton. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Hartzell and Loretta Peters; four brothers: Albert, William, Edwin and Herbert; two daughters-in-law, Sharren and Margaret Murwin; one son-in-law, Russell Borde; and two grandchildren, Lyle Phillips Jr. and Ronald Borde. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at ST. JOHN EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, EDGERTON, with the Rev. Carl Seeger officiating. Burial will be in the Fulton Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the EHLERT FUNERAL HOME (US HWY. 51 S.), Edgerton, from 3:30 until 7:30 p.m., and at the CHURCH on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial is being established in Lorraine's name.
