Andrew Henry Prowell was the son of Andrew Jackson and Prudence Jane Wright Prowell; grandson of David and Hannah Baird Prowell and Paschal and Elizabeth Lawley Wright; great grandson of Thomas Prowell, Josiah and Mary Holmes Baird, Stephen and Abigail (Broughton) Brawton) Wilson Lawley.

OBITUARY
Andrew Henry Prowell, son of Andrew J. and Prudence Jane Wright Prowell, was born Sept.1, 1863, near Nashville, Tenn, and departed this life, April 1, 1934 at the age of 70 years and seven months. He was stricken with paralysis about five years ago and never fully recovered, although loving hands did all they could. He was a resident of Coffey county for more than forty years, residing on the same farm. He was united in marriage to Flora Adell Mills in 1891. To this union were born two children, Elza R. Prowell, of Olivet, and Nona May Son, of Gridley.He leaves to mourn his loss, his devoted wife, two children and four grandchildren, Thelma and Elza Wayne Prowell and Marlin and Mildred Arlene Son, of whom he was very fond. He was a kind and loving husband and father, and will be greatly missed in the home. Dear father you are gone but not forgotten, There will be one vacant chair, May your dear soul rest in heaven Till we meet again up there. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. M.A. Good officiating. The music was furnished by Mrs. C. C. Cummins and Miss Zola Smith sang, "Shall we gather at the river," "Beautiful Isle" and "Goin Home." Interment was in Lincoln Cemetery. The pall bearers were: Jesse Rodgers, Frank Wilson, Jesse Spielman, Oscal Laws, Carl Saueressig and Jim Baker.

Both children of Andrew Henry and Flora Mills Prowell grew to adulthood and have find a grave sites.

Andrew Henry Prowell was a descendant of Tennessee plantation owner Josiah Baird from the following line: Josiah Baird(1), Hannah Baird Prowell(2), Andrew Jackson Prowell(3), Andrew Henry Prowell and his brother, Thomas Prowell (4).

Thru his mother, he was a descendant of Smith County Tennessee landowner, Paschal Wright and his wife, Elizabeth Lawley Wright, daughter of Stephen Lawley.
