Mr. Kelley had lived in St. Louis for many years and moved to Puxico in 1985. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a life member of V.F.W. Post 7522 in Puxico and was a member of the Puxico Masonic Lodge. His favorite hobby was playing golf.
On Aug. 30, 1947, he was married to June Kitchen in St. Louis. She preceded him in death on Aug. 1, 2003.
Surviving are one son, Russell Kelley, Jr. of St. Louis; one daughter, Deborah Henson of St. Louis; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard "Wassie" Kelley.
Visitation was held after 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico officiating.
Interment followed in the Puxico Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.
