Mrs. Carrie Hook, 86, 1322 South E street, died Sunday evening at 6 o'clock following several weeks illness. Born Dec 15, 1874, in Bartholomew county she was the daughter of James and Mary Rogers. She was married to John E. Hook, Nov 14, 1897. He is deceased. She was a member of the First Baptist church. Survivors include two children, Mrs. William Fetz, Elwood, and John E. Hook, Jr. of Elwood, a brother Harry Rogers of near Columbus; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. The body is at the Clark's chapel where friends may call. Funeral rites will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Rev . R. W. Sage will officiate. Burial will be made in the Newbern cemetery near New Hope.
