Max Jacob Fineman and Elsie met when Max was working in a shoe store, and Elsie came in wearing a sweater. She was about 16 at the time. They married the following year. Max and Elsie lived in Salisbury for a time. She converted to Judaism on Dec 11, 1935 in the Kehilath Israel Congregation, Salisbury, MD. Her Jewish name was Esther. For many years (late 60's early 70's?) she was a "Grey Lady" hospital volunteer at North Shore Hospital, in South Florida. She was predeceased by her husband, Max Jacob Fineman, and survived by her daughters, Lois Rebecca Hawkins and Joyce Ann Mossberg Pierce; along with grandchildren Sandra, Andrew, Cynthia, Anita and Linda, and numerous great-grandchildren.
