BURLINGTON - Mrs. Helen "Peggy" Johnson Hall of 426 Tarleton Avenue, Burlington, died at her residence on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 12:45 a.m.
A native of Ramseur, N.C., she was the wife of the late Thomas Spencer Hall and the daughter of Lester Johnson and Ada Kivett Johnson, both deceased. She was a former employee of Copland Fabrics and the Administrative Assistant for Alamance Secretarial Service and Burlington Alamance Board of Realtors-Alamance Multiple Listing Service. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bobbie Hall Pate and husband, Tom, of Burlington and Mrs. Tommie Hall Wingate of Columbia, S.C.; four grandchildren, Mr. Ted Pate and wife, Flori, of Bend, Ore., Mr. Spencer Pate of Burlington, Mrs. Elizabeth Graf and husband, Chris, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and Mrs. Katherine Templeton and husband, Brandon, of Columbia, S.C.; six great-grandchildren, Will Graf, Peter Graf, Collier Pate, Charlie Pate, Emma Hall Templeton and Smith Templeton; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Boswell of Graham.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mr. Levan J. Wingate; a sister, Mrs. Thelma Christopher; and a brother, Mr. John Fred Johnson.
A graveside service will be conducted at Alamance Memorial Park on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 12 noon by the Rev. Bennie Smith and the Rev. Powell Sykes.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Tom and Bobbie Pate, 2228 Walker Avenue, Burlington, N.C.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to USC Foundation, Levan J. Wingate Scholarship Fund, c/o the University of South Carolina Law School, Office of Development, 701 South Main Street, Columbia, S.C. 29208.
