William had been a resident of Gormania, W.Va. prior to his passing in Oakland, Md.
He was a retired coal miner for Island Creek Coal Company. He proudly served his country as a United States Navy veteran of WWII.
He is survived by three sons; three daughters; one sister; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was a son of the late Andy and Ada (Morris) Brown. He was also preceded in death by his wife, R. Helen Brown; four brothers; and two sisters.
