Odessia married Henry Allen Anderson in 1905 in Sedan, Chautauqua County, Kansas. They made their home in Montgomery County, Kansas after their marriage but in 1906 moved to Washington County, Oklahoma. They had nine children.

Opal Odessia (Chapman) Anderson, 29, died of typhoid on June 9, 1917 in Dewey, Washington County, Oklahoma. Her funeral was held at Noon on June 10, 1917 at her home. Rev. Downing and Dr. Crawford officiated the services with burial in the Dewey Cemetery, Dewey, Washington County, Oklahoma.
