WAYNE CAMPBELL SPIGGLE SR., 64, retired local funeral director, died Tuesday at the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital in Baltimore. Born in Aurora, February 22, 1906, he was the son of the late Walter C. and Mary Etta (Stemple) Spiggle. His first wife Lenora (Gnegy) Spiggle, preceded him in death. A graduate of Aurora High School and Cincinnati College of Embalming, he owned and operated the Spiggle Funeral Home here until his retirement in 1966. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Aurora; IOOF Lodge 983, Davis; Fairfax Lodge 96, AF & AM, Royal Arch Masons and Walters Chapter 43, Order of Eastern Star. Mr. Spiggle also was a member of the Blackwater Civic Association and the Tucker County Chamber of Commerce. Surviving are his widow, Isabelle (Eshelman) Spiggle; two sons, Dr. Wayne C. Spiggle Jr., Cumberland, and George A. Spiggle, Hopkinsville, Ky.; five sisters, Miss Kathleen Spiggle, Morgantown; Mrs G. Edward Shackelford, Elkins; Mrs. Roy Bowles, Carlisle, Pa.; Miss Nina Spiggle, Winchester, Va.; and Mrs. J.B. Bailey, Ships Bottoms, N.J.; a brother, Floyd Spiggle, Huntington, and seven grandchildren. The body is at the residence in Davis where friends will be received until 10:30 a.m. tomorrow. The body will be taken to St. Paul's church in Aurora at noon tomorrow for a service at 2 p.m. Rev. Glenn A. Shackelford, Norfolk, Va., a nephew, and Rev. William J. Cox of Cumberland, will officiate. Interment will follow in the aurora Cemetery. Cumberland News. February 2, 1971.
