William Martin Armstrong, 69, 1174-13th NW, died Monday, Nov. 7, at his home.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Forest Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jose Blackshear and the Rev. Bill Draper officiating. Bright-Holland Funeral Home will make burial in Forest Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Armstrong was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Oklahoma, a son of John Robert and Myrtle V. Annett Armstrong. He married Lela Wortham Aug. 19, 1944, in Hugo, Okla. He was a retired sheet metal worker at Weiler Air Conditioning and was a member of the Eagle Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in the Army during World War II.
Surviving are his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Jenna Armstrong of Paris; seven brother, Robert Armstrong Jr. of Brookston, Ed Armstrong of Paris, Harvey Armstrong of Powderly, Will Armstrong of Unity, Bob Armstrong of Tigertown, J. C. Armstrong of Paris, and Doug Armstrong of Sumner; three sisters, Robbie Huggins of Brookston, Kathryn Draper of Detroit, and Doris Avery of Paris; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, R. B. and Harold Armstrong.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
