Helen Crittenden Judd passed away on November 1, 2008.


Helen was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 25, 1922 to Elliot Otto and Wendella Blanchard Brown Crittenden. Her family moved to Hoytsville, Utah when she was three years of age. She graduated from North Summit High School. She married Leon Marchant Judd on December 2, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. Helen and Leon have three daughters, 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Leon passed away on December 19, 1998. She loved visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


She loved music and gardening and was an excellent seamstress. She was a secretary for the Summit County USU Extension Service for many years. She loved guiding the local youth through the many projects offered through the 4-H program. She spent numerous summers at 4-H camp and received many awards for her 57 years of service in 4-H. She was a member of the Woolgrower's Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and the BPW. She loved to learn and even in her later years she was always inclined to experiment with new hobbies. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She spent countless hours sewing for the church's humanitarian program.


She is survived by her daughters and their husbands: Dianne and Ken Wilde, Roma and Steve Jenkins, JaNae and Sam Blonquist; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Hobson; brother-in-law Donald Judd and his wife Louise; sister-in-law, Gloria Judd; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon; grandson, Gary Jenkins; granddaughter, Staci Jenkins Hart; brother, Rex Crittenden; sister, Marie Crittenden Wilde and her husband Ren; brother-in-law, William Marchant Judd; and sister-in-law, Reva Judd Davis and her husband Harold.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 12 Noon in the Hoytsville Chapel. Friends and Family may call that morning from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. at the Church.
Interment: Hoytsville Cemetery.
