7 Oct 2008: Anna E. Balaster, 95, Annville, died peacefully of heart failure October 5, 2008, in her residence, with her loving family gathered by her side. She was the wife of the late Ammon Balaster, who died in 1975. Born in Wilmington, Del., on December 15, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Nazareno and Maria DiAngelis Mariani. She was retired from the cafeteria of the AnnvilleCleona School District. Anna was the oldest living member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Annville, and was one of its original founders. Surviving are two sons, Paul P. Balaster and wife Shirley of Lebanon and Ammon N. Balaster of Boulder, Colo.; a daughter, Dolores J., wife of Allen Long of Leesburg, Fla.; two sisters, Helen Zengerle of Annville and Evelyn, wife of Charles Lear of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgranddaughter. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. from St. Paul The Apostle Church, 125 S. Spruce Street, Annville. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lebanon. [Lebanon Daily News]
