Fidel H. Urioste, age 78, a lifetime resident of Tecolotito, N.M., passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at his home.
He was born on March 17, 1930, in Las Vegas, N.M., to the late Benjamin Urioste and Eva Marie Cordova Urioste.
He was united in marriage on June 4, 1949, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, N.M. to Rita Maria Lujan.
He was a member of the Labor Union 720 in Denver, a former president of the Tecolotito Water Board, a member of the Tecolotito Volunteer Fire Department, loved hunting, riding horses, ranching and farming.
He was preceded in death by his Father: Ben Urioste; brothers: Antonio Urioste and Benjamin Urioste, Jr.
He is survived by his wife: Rita Urioste of Tecolotito, N.M.; mother: Eva Urioste of Tecolotito, N.M.; daughters: Lucy Martinez and husband Rudy of Thornton, Colo., Virginia Tenorio of Tecolotito, N.M., and Irene Urioste of Thornton, Colo.; sons: Tony Urioste and wife Marilyn of Commerce City, Colo., Fidel Leroy Urioste and wife Joyce Sisneros of Thornton, Colo., Harold Urioste of Tecolotito, N.M., Joseph Urioste and wife Clara Ulibarri of Commerce City, Colo. and Larry Urioste and wife Annette Mascarenas of Thornton, Colo.; sister: Maria Oralia Smith of Pueblo, Colo.; brother: Patrick Louie Urioste and wife Grace of Tecolotito, N.M.; grandchildren: Fifteen; great-grandchildren: Twenty-Three; numerous: Nephews and Nieces..
Rosary devotional services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at the St. Joseph's Church in Anton Chico, N.M. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Joseph's Church in Anton Chico, N.M., with Father Antonio Mondragon as celebrant.
Interment will follow at the San Antonio Cemetery in Los Montoyas, N.M.. with the following serving as casket bearers: Rudy Martinez, Jr., Fidel Martinez, Ruben Tenorio, Jeremy Urioste, Tony Julius Urioste, Joseph Urioste, Jr., Larry Urioste, Jr. and Enrique Urioste. Serving as honorary bearers: Manny Martinez, Raul Tenorio, Joaquin Urioste and Robert Urioste.
