Iver Christian Andersen, son of Mathias and Dorthea Andersen, was born on March 21, 1906 in Diamond Lake Township, Lincoln County, Lake Benton, Minnesota.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Diamond Lake Lutheran Church and was an active member of the church. Iver attended rural school, one year at Danebod College in Tyler, Minnesota, and later in life one year at Atterdag College in California.
Iver farmed with his father in Diamond Lake Township and for two years worked for beekeeper Emil Hoffman at Janesville, Minnesota. In 1929 he started his own beekeeping and was a 50 year member of the Minnesota Beekeepers Association, serving as treasurer. He was also a member of the American Beekeepers Association.
On February 2, 1968 Iver was united in marriage to Walentyna Jaskalska at Bechan, Minnesota. Together they continued beekeeping.
On January 6, 1980 Iver departed from this life at his home. He had attained the age of 73 years, 9 months and 16 days.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Walentyna; his brother, Hans.
of Berkeley, California and a nephew, Peter of San Francisco, California.
Iver was preceded in death by his parents

His honey stand was run on an honesty principal, with a note saying "Take the Honey, Leave the Money." In later years a dish, a bowl with a dish and rock on top was still there to put the money in.
