Kenneth N. Beatty, 76 of Richland Center died Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Richland Hospital. A lifetime resident of Richland County, Ken taught in the Richland School District for 54 years.

From 1953-1955, he taught grades 1-8 at Aubrey School. From 1955-1959, he taught at the Excelsior School. Ken taught grades 7 and 8 at the Boaz School from 1959-1964 and served as principal for two of those years. From 1964 until his retirement in 2007, Ken taught art at Richland Center High School. He also taught at various elementary schools while working at the high school. For many years, Ken was the Director of One and Three Act plays.

Ken is survived by his son Michael (Natasha) Lovings of Beaver Dam, two grandsons, Griffin and Nolan, two sisters Brenda Dalberg of Viroqua, Myrna Simonson of Lone Rock, one brother Stan Beatty of Fitchburg, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents and brother Carl.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel in Richland Center. As per Ken's request, no formal memorial services will be held.

The family suggests memorial in Ken's name be given to the Richland School District Foundation for the Kenneth N. Beatty Memorial Scholarship.

The Pratt Funeral Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
