Gloria H. Ammerman, 91, Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday afternoon at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of Homer and Jennie (Hoover) Wilt. She married Edwin Ammerman in February 1942 in Winchester, Va., and he preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 1973.
Surviving are three sons: Duane (Nancy) of Hayward, Calif., Dennis (Sue) of East Petersburg and Tracy of Duncansville; a daughter, Heidi Way of Eldorado; five grandchildren: Cheryl Fellows, Eddie Way, Philip Way, Kate White and Eric Ammerman; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Karen.
Gloria was a 1940 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed working outdoors, flowers, gardening and feeding birds.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, by Pastor Amy Raser. Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery.
The family requests that donations be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602, in memory of Gloria.
