Barbara Ellen Coleman Glotfelty was born August 13, 1854, in Brothersvalley Township, near Hay's Church. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. J. Hartle in Seward, Pa., May 29, 1932, aged 77 years, 9 months, 16 days. Mrs. Glotfelty was the daughter of the late John Coleman and a sister of the late ex-sheriff Andrew W. Coleman. She was united in marriage to Simon J. Glotfelty, in Berlin, February 6, 1879. To this union were born the following children: Edgar, of Berlin; Ada, Mrs. Charles Ringler, deceased; Harry, deceased; Charles, Oakland, Cal.; Naomi, Mrs. E. L. Werner, Hubbard, Ohio; Walter, Meyersdale; Ruth, Mrs. C. J. Hartle, Seward, Pa.; Miles, Pittsburgh. Her husband died in 1915. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Albert Coleman, of Berlin; Frank, of Illinois. One brother, Andrew, and one sister, Mrs. Sara Berkebile, of Pine Hill, preceded her to the spirit world. Mrs. Glotfelty was in poor health for several years, but during the past four months she seemed to be much better. Last Thursday evening she was stricken by paralysis from which she never regained consciousness and which caused her departure Sunday night. Funeral services were held in the Reformed Church of Salisbury, Thursday afternoon, Rev. A. M. Wright officiating. Interment was made in the Greenville cemetery immediately afterward, Undertaker W. C. Price in charge.
