 Mathilde F. Anneke was adjunct officer of her husband Fritz Anneke in the German Revolutionary war in Baden and Palatinate in summer 1849. During the whole year of 1848, while her husband was jailed, she was one of the leaders of the revolution in Cologne, where she published two newspapers and organized many events and activities.
