AUBURN WOMAN IS DEAD AT AGE OF 96 - Mrs. Edna Alice Harkless Succumbed at Home of a Daughter, Mrs. Frances Hollmann, on Saturday Afternoon

Mrs. Edna Alice Harkless, age 96, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Frances Hollmann of 358 West Eleventh Street , Auburn , at 1 p.m. Saturday. Mrs. Harkless died suddenly and had not been considered in ill health despite her advanced age.

She was born in Decatur of Feb. 17, 1866, the daughter of Martin and Sarah Archbold Hower.

She and David J. Harkless were united in marriage on Sept. 7, 1888, and he preceded his wife in death in 1938.

Mrs. Harkless was a member of the Methodist church at Decatur .

Surviving in addition to the daughter with whom she resided are two other daughters, Mrs. Dwight Feagler of 111 East Carlin street , Auburn and Mrs. Ivan Decker of Fort Wayne ; three grandchildren; six-great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. John Myers of Decatur .

Funeral services will be conducted at the Zwick funeral home at Decatur at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with the pastor of the Decatur Methodist church, Rev. A. C. Underwood, officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery at Decatur .
