Robert J. Brantmeyer, age 76, of Madison, passed away on Jan. 30, 2007, at home. He was born on April 3, 1930, in Madison, to James and Bertha (Sabroff) Brantmeyer.
Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953 and the U.S. Army Reserves from 1953-1956. He married Virginia Whalen on March 2, 1957.
Robert worked as a supervisor for the City of Madison, Park and Recreation Department from 1956 until 1989.
He is survived by his wife, one son, two grandchildren, two brothers, and two sisters.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and step-father, Peter Morschauser. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Feb. 3, 2007, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, with military rites conducted.
